Spinal Manipulation

Spinal manipulation is a ‘hands-on’ or ‘manual therapy’ technique used by physiotherapists to regain mobility and optimal alignment of the spinal joints. Manipulation is a high velocity, low-amplitude thrust at a specific area of the spine.  It can be very effective for pain relief, improving mobility and correcting posture.

Many conditions common to riders respond well to a treatment program that includes manipulation. Research has shown that a combination of manipulation, exercise and education is the most effective treatment for neck and back pain. Sandra has advanced training in spinal manipulation through a post graduate program that has earned her the ‘FCAMPT’ designation.
